Q: Are your programs accredited?
A: Yes, all of our programs are fully accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, the oldest regional accrediting body in the United States.
Q: What are your Admissions Requirements?
A: For our master's programs you must hold a bachelor's degree and must submit official transcripts, two letters of reference and a statement of intent. Entry to all programs is subject to an interview with the relevant Program Director. Basic computer competence is required.
BSMIS applicants should have an associate's degree, experience with computers and the World Wide Web and must submit official transcripts, two letters of reference and a statement of intent. MBA students must also submit GMAT scores and write a sustainability essay.
Q: How much do your programs cost? (Fall 2007)
A: Tuition includes all fees (computer lab, student activities, and
enrollment fees) except late payments. Tuition is paid by the term and
varies by program, according to the schedule below.
- MSM and MSIE programs: Tuition is $18,900 total for the MSIE & MSM, programs. On a per credit basis this translates to a rate of
$630 per credit times 30 credits, the total required to complete the
degree. A student who wishes to take MORE than 30 credits (to widen
his/her range of study), or who wishes to retake a class (as an audit
or for credit) may do so, but total degree cost will be more than the
$18,900.
- MSM Healthcare Administration: Tuition is $18,000 total for the MSM HCA program. On a per credit basis this translates to a rate of
$500 per credit times 36 credits, the total required to complete the
degree.
- MBA program: Tuition is $37,800 total for the MBA program. On a per credit basis this translates to a rate of
$630 per credit times 60 credits, the total required to complete the
degree.
- MAT program: Tuition is $15,900 for the MAT program. On a per credit basis this translates to a rate of $530 per credit times 30 credits, the total required to complete the degree. A student who wishes to take MORE than 30 credits (to widen his/her range of study), or who wishes to retake a class (as an audit or for credit) may do so, but total degree cost will be more than the $15,900.
- MSIT program: Tuition is based on your customized choice of classes
at either $530 or $630 per credit from the programs shown above. Total tuition is between $15,900 and $18,900 depending on course selection.
- BS/MIS program: Tuition is $330 per credit for the BS/MIS program. As
a Bachelor degree completion program, total tuition will be based on
the number of credits the student needs to finish his or her degree.
Total credits needed for completion is 120. BS/MIS students must
transfer credits into the program from another institution.
- CEP program: $400, $530, or $630 per credit based on the course
registered for, payable upon registration.
An enrollment deposit ($500 for graduate programs, $350 for BS/MIS
program), which guarantees your place in an academic program, will be
credited toward your tuition. Your deposit is due within two weeks of
acceptance and is non-refundable. A student's final payment is reduced by
either $350 or $500, by applying the pre-paid enrollment deposit.
Q: Do you offer financial aid?
A: Yes, all of our programs qualify for federal financial aid assistance to qualified students. Eligible bachelor's degree-completion students may apply for grants and loans, approved under the Distance Education Demonstration program; eligible master's students may apply for Stafford lending. Our financial aid officers provide assistance in assembling all the resources you will need to attend our programs.
Q: May I take a single course or attend your programs part-time?
A: Yes, you may select any single course from the catalog to attend on a Continuing Education basis. You may matriculate into a degree program after taking a maximum of 9 Continuing Education credits. You may also complete any of our programs on a part-time basis. This does not apply to the MBA program.
Q: May I complete an entire degree program completely online?
A: Our bachelor's degree program is completely online. Masters degree programs are offered with a low-residence (limited face-to-face) schedule but fully distant participation is an option. Talk to our admissions staff to discuss your needs.
(This does not apply to the MBA program).
Q: May I take some courses from one program, and some from another?
A: Yes. Our Master of Science in Information Technologies program (MSIT) allows you to work with an advisor and with our program directors to custom design your own program of study. Choose from any of our courses that best match your needs and goals. This does not apply to the MBA program.
Q: How technically skilled must I be for admission to your programs?
A: Candidates for admission must have their own internet-accessible computer and experience in searching the web, using email, and using basic desktop software. Candidates for admission to the MSIE program must also have command of at least one programming language and a background in either databases, network administration, or programming.
Q: Do you provide additional technology training workshops?
Yes. During the academic year, we provide a number of hands-on technology training workshops for enrolled students and alumni. We also provide summer skills intensive workshops. Details about each workshop are announced in our monthly newsletters.
Q: Do you provide academic assistance such as tutoring?
Yes. We offer group and private tutoring opportunities for enrolled students. Faculty members also provide on-site and online tutoring and additional help for enrolled students during their office hours.
Q: What student housing or overnight accommodations are available?
A: Local lodging options include a restored art deco hotel located across the street from our campus, several quaint bed-and-breakfasts and national chain hotels within five miles' drive. Our Brattleboro link in the Prospective Student section of our site lists numerous options.
Q: What is your relationship to Marlboro College or Music Festival in Marlboro, VT?
A: The Graduate Center is our Brattleboro-based branch campus location of Marlboro College, located approximately 10 miles from the rural undergraduate campus. During the summer, the Marlboro campus hosts the Marlboro Music Festival, attracting world-renowned classical musicians and aficionados.
